Hi, I'm Álvaro, your host on this adventure where you'll discover Mallorca like few people know it. I was born and raised here, and I live in my own van: by the beach in summer, up in the mountains in winter. You know what that means? I know spots that don't appear in any guidebook — many locals don't even know them. If you rent with me, you'll get to enjoy this island's secrets at your own pace, always with respect for the surroundings and the people who live here.

Let me introduce you to Dory la Exploradori, my Volkswagen T4 camper, ready for you to live Mallorca on your own terms, with no schedules and no limits. She's a classic camper with all the charm of the old-school VWs, but fully kitted out so you won't be missing a thing. Unlike others, she's compact and easy to drive — she gets around and parks in any corner of the island: from the coves down south to the villages of the Serra de Tramuntana where the big motorhomes simply can't reach. With the Exploradori you won't just get the most authentic camper experience, you'll also connect with nature like never before.

Dory is a 30-year-old lady and, as such, she's not a modern car, nor does she have modern driving aids. She'll get in and out of anywhere, but driving a vehicle like this takes a bit of a feel for it: if you don't have experience with classics, I'd recommend avoiding the hardest-to-reach coves, narrow winding roads and steep hills. Mallorca has endless turquoise coves with easy access — in many cases the most beautiful and famous ones — and my favourites are on the map I'll share with you.
